My First Dorsey Thanksgiving

Well, it was my first holiday away from family, which was sad. But fortunately I have
married into an AMAZING family, so of course my first Thanksgiving with them was absolutely wonderful!

I wanted to contribute to all of the cooking (which we are never able to do since we're visitors :( ) so I decided to make desserts! Well, I made WAY too much dessert. But I had such a blast making them all and so many firsts!! My first dough, tart, pie, and cheesecake!

I wanted to make sure not to forget any of my ingredients, so I made a chart a month ago, to tally up how much butter, sugar, eggs, etc. I would need! It was a HUGE help. I had a ton of ingredients.
micah wanted to be in the photo. hahaha
my leaf cut-outs for my top pie crust!
apple blackberry pie! before leaves and baking
bourbon pumpkin tart. i love my new tart pan!
all of my desserts!!
german chocolate cake
bourbon pumpkin tart with walnut streusel

classic cheesecake with cranberry cointreau sauce
the cheesecake was the biggest hit, and i must admit it was DELICIOUS!!!
i was so proud

We had Thanksgiving and John and Amber's new wonderful home!
It was a really great day :)

We had such a wonderful day.
After lunch we took a family picture with Micah's camera,
I'll get that up when he gets it to me!

Then my camera died :( So no more thanksgiving weekend pictures. We decorated the tree, saw blind side (again!), shopped for christmas decorations, watched old movies, played frisbee and did lots of hair and eating all those left over desserts!!

Thank you for an awesome first Thanksgiving Dorsey's!! I love you all so much!

...

This week there is lots of decorating, Christmas shopping and cleaning to do!!
Tomorrow I am making my first wreath!
Out of fresh magnolia leaves! I am so excited!
