yeah.....that didn't go so well. HA!
I think I maybe went one full day with no sugar at all. I'm disappointed in myself for sure.
I really thought I could do it! I didn't realize how much I eat chocolate and cookies throughout the week, and how much I look forward to it after every meal. (I'm not kidding, this starts after breakfast.) Our "dessert" of strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries only worked for so long.
Saturday night Micah was annoyed with it all and really wanted to go out to eat (and you know I was no help at all) and get burgers. So we did. Well it was all down hill from there. Then we came home and had a big bowl of our favorite chocolate ice cream. And dark chocolate. And so on and so on.
I'm disappointed because I had lost 4 pounds. In one week!!! By cutting out probably 90% of my sweet eating. (pretty sure I already gained it back) I wish I could only eat that small amount of sweets but I just enjoy them so much. I have learned a couple things throughout my one week attempt at the diet:
1. I have ZERO self control when it comes to sweets.
2. Salads aren't as bad as I thought - i actually enjoy them now.
3. Chocolate is one of the greatest things on this earth - it never tasted better than it did this week when i limited my intake
4. I'm a better cook than I though - made some delicious meals!
I think there were a few others but I can't remember. So the plan now is to keep eating makers diet but with sweets and breads added back in. I'm going to work really hard on my self control. Im thinking of making a schedule that allows me to have sweets only on certain days. I realize this is absolutely ridiculous to most. But I was likin' myself 4 lbs lighter! I really felt better too.
confession - today i gorged. went to walgreen's and bought oreos (newmans o's are way better but too far away for my craving!), then ate 1 1/2 of my favorite cookies from central market, and topped it off with a little piece of dark chocolate.
tomorrow is going to be an attempted day at no junk. don't hold your breath. :)
haha! so good to have a sister-n-law that can relate to me. :)
