labor day joyfulness

{first things first}

this is my husband -- he loves me because i stop him in his work day to do things like this:

{labor day weekend}

we spent the weekend at the guadelupe river with Gary and Kaysie and the kids. it was a lot of fun. loving spending time with them! but before we left i was trying to decide what we were going to eat all weekend. trying to keep the maker's diet in mind, i found a delicious chicken salad recipe, with lots of apples, walnuts, onion and cranberries!

micah is not a big mayonnaise fan but the recipe doesn't call for much and even he loved it! we used a makers approved mayo of course, with omega 3 and flax oil. we just put it on our everyday sprouted whole grain bread we love but it would be great on a real flakey croissant i think..if only they were makers :)

we hung out at Gary and Kaysie's friends Will and Julie's house all afternoon. it was a fantastic, the boys played guitars and smoked pipes. the girls, we 'oohed and aahed' over they're beautiful 2 week old baby, liam. i forgot to take a picture.

ava and adi decided they want to be stylers of the hairs like they're aunt :)

we saw this interesting fellow in tighter pants than i've ever owned at the gas station on the way home! HA!

saturday night we went to see band of heathens, cross canadian ragweed and robert earl keen and got back stage passes! but it started raining and we had walked so we decided to head back and missed robert :(

then sunday we sce-daddled on back to austin to watch laurel play soccer!

she had an awesome assist on a goal but they lost in the end :( it was fun gettin all excited and hollerin -- haha! haven't been to one of her soccer games in a while. can't wait for the next!

i'm so glad we were able to make it to the game! so good to see them and cheer scoops on :)

we had a lovely weekend. now it is back to the daily routine of cooking and cleaning! except tomorrow we have to take micah's car to the shop, mine is currently not working either [good timing eh?] so i will ride micah's bike to work! never done that so im excited and a little scared...the road to the salon is aaaall downhill! yikes!
